  2. Dave Witherow says:

The proposed implementation of this review is disgraceful.
It means the end of Fish and Game as a devolved, user-pays/user says organization.
It means bureaucratic centralization, increased expenditures by taxpayers, racist meddling, and a large further erosion of New Zealand’s democracy.
It is exactly what I would have expected from this corrupt, moronic government.

    • Dr. Charlie Baycroft says:

I don’t really see why we keep paying for an annual license to hunt and fish for introduced species that the people in control of our government want to call “pests” and eradicate.
Why are we paying for people in the F&G organization to represent us when they do not seem to have the courage to publicly oppose this foolish government ambition?
I stopped paying for a fishing license for a while because it seemed rather foolish to pay to try to catch “pests” in an increasingly polluted and sick ecosystem.
It would seem more logical for DOC to be paying us for helping them eradicate pests than for us to have to pay for the opportunity to do so.
I’ve written to F&G saying that if they bend over and allow this takeover I will stop paying.
Maybe others might consider this as well?
