NZFFA has a new President

NZFFA is pleased to welcome Bill Chisholm as our new President for the 2026/7 season

Bill brings a wealth of experience to the federation which will no doubt be put to full use.

Bill’s own CV:

  • Bill Chisholm (66) is an environmental consultant residing in Southland. 
  • He has a Masters Degree (with honours) in Science, Majoring in Zoology, from Victoria University of Wellington (1984).  \
  • He was a certified Environmental Practitioner with the Environment Institute of Australia and New Zealand (EIANZ) for 20 years..

Bill was elected by a unanimous vote at our recent AGM in July.

We wish him well for the coming year.

    Sounds promising. NZFFA goes back a long time, I think over 50 years to the Trout Farming Battle of the 1970s. It’s been a good advocate and thwarted stupid plans for introducing channel catfish and grass carp etc.,
    Importantly it has not the statutory restraints Fish and Game has. What short sightedness to make F&G NZ responsible to the Minister of Conservation, in other words DOC?
