……….Fly fishermen who fish the Taupo area are keen to know when the spawning runs have commenced? They ask questions like are there many fish in the rivers, many being caught etc. Well I don’t know, I just watch the carparks n when lots of rubbish n oodles of discarded nylon show up it’s a good indication it’s all on! Picked this pile of nylon up today from the main carpark n close riverbank on the true left bank of the Waitahanui River, 5 days after I last cleaned it up. I’m willing to wager, that fly fishing is the only sport where someone can tell how well it’s going by the amount of rubbish a lot of the participants leave in public carparks!!!
